Senior Graphic Designer
Micaela (Quela) Reyes
Senior Graphic Designer
Micaela, also known as Quela (pronounced “Kella”), creates graphics and illustrations for the University of Florida’s Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing. In this role, she collaborates with other designers, copywriters, communicators, and marketing specialists to visually elevate the university’s brand.
Originally from the Delaware coast, Quela moved to Orlando, Florida, to attend the University of Central Florida, where she earned her bachelor’s degrees in Emerging Media (Graphic Design) (B.F.A.) and Legal Studies (B.A.). While at UCF, she worked as a graphic designer for the UCF College of Graduate Studies, developing a wide range of print and digital materials for both the college and the Office of Research.
In 2022, Quela relocated to Gainesville, Florida, to join the University of Florida team while pursuing her Master of Arts in Mass Communication (M.A.M.C.). Her research focused on developing strategic marketing campaigns that target positive reputation building.
As a designer, Quela enjoys developing exciting brand elements and unique campaign materials — her favorite projects are ones with just-enough challenges, where she can explore innovative solutions. In her free time, you can find Quela sampling coffees around town, streaming crime dramas, or tending to her ever-growing houseplant collection.
